Presidents Message
What a jam-packed cricket year!
This season we moved club head quarters from Kingsley Park to Chichester, had blasters nights, home games… at least this year didn’t have another new system to learn! PlayHQ worked well this year, theres a lot more added features on the cards in the months ahead too – including scratch match functionality, chat with opposition manager & coach as well as a few other minor improvements.
Our season numbers:
- Blasters 212 / Juniors 249
- Number of coaches & managers 65
- Number of games played 331
- Including 3 teams making the finals;
- U15 Maroon boys;
- U17 Maroon boys; and
- U15 Maroon girls
Both boys’ teams had great seasons but unfortunately fell agonisingly short in the semi-finals with the girls’ hosting the Grand Final at Kingsley Park and becoming BACK TO BACK GIRLS PREMIERS! Huge congrats girls!
Throughout the year we acknowledge players through baggies, milestones as well as other forms worthy of being made aware. Our coaches and managers have an appreciation night where we put on a show with a cricket game under lights, with food trucks as well as drinks and snacks provided by the club.
This time though is for the committee. They are the engine room of the club. These people meet month in and month out, mostly at the club, making sure things tick over for what seems like “cricket as usual”. But their effort is anything but that.

It’s worth noting here, that Rachael joined the committee when she thought her son was going to continue playing cricket. When rego’s opened, he unfortunately didn’t want to play, however, we as a committee refused to let Rachael go as she was that good!
During the back end of the season we put a call out for new committee members, and I’d like to Welcome the following new members for the upcoming season:

NEW NETS AT CHICHESTER!
Yeeehaaaa! The project has finally been approved by the City of Joondalup, and the club has been able to secure 90% of the funding through grants and the council, with the remaining coming from surplus funds in the club. Watch this space!
