Equipment

Each team has a dedicated, labelled kit bag. Please do a stocktake of your equipment before returning it to the shed.

First Aid

For any scrapes, knocks, bumps or bites, there is a First Aid kit and cold packs in the Blasters equipment shed. If you need help, ask a KWJCC Committee member (maroon shirts) or come and find me (Optus Stadium with the Level 3 Scorchers).

Activities

  • Please make sure you know how to run this week’s activities! They are essential for skill development and are great fun too
  • Get the parents involved 😊
  • Practicing bowling skills is critical. Let me know if you need any help/inspiration to work on any of your kid’ bowling technique
  • Keep an eye on the clock and get through your activities

Games

  • Set up your stumps ensuring that the kids will not be looking directly into the sun 😜
  • Batting coach to stand behind the wicket keeper, give advice to the batters, and tee them up if required
  • If the batter misses the ball (1st instance), the umpire should throw (either overarm or underarm depending on the child’s skill level)
  • If the batter misses the ball (2nd instance, from the umpire), have the child hit the ball off the tee
  • This will ensure that every ball, the child has three chances to hit the ball and rotate the strike
  • Make sure you know which ground you need to be at 😊
  • Learn the activities and join in
  • Don’t forget your child’s hat, drink bottle, and sunscreen
  • Ensure your child is engaging in the session and is not being disruptive The coaches are not babysitters
  • Join in (yes, it’s worth saying more than once) 😊
  • Be ready to help switch activities and set up the game
  • Look after your coach, your manager, and other parents
