Cricket Blast

Cricket Blast is an enjoyable 13-week initiative tailored for kids aged 5 to 10, where they can explore the world of cricket through entertaining activities and games. This vibrant program launches in November and continues until March, with a pause for the school holidays. It offers a welcoming atmosphere that encourages children to learn new skills while having a blast with their peers!

Both my sons started playing cricket at KWJCC in Mini’s in 2009 and continued playing until Under 17’s in 2019. The coaches during that time were all committed and patient with their support and guidance to develop their cricket skills. Although both boys were lucky enough to experience winning finals, this was not the focus of KWJCC. The Club had a culture of participation over winning, being inclusive not exclusive, encouraging and fair, no matter a players ability. I would highly recommend KWJCC for any young cricketer and their family.

My daughter has been playing cricket for the Kings since 2021 and from day one I have been so impressed with the club. It is such a supportive community with an impressive focus on fun, mateship and the development of young cricketers. I have been lucky enough to coach the girls U13s and 15s the last few years which has been a super fulfilling experience.

Playing a small part in the development of young people’s cricket at the club has been a joy and has been made easier through the efforts and ethos of so many people across the club. The volunteer base across the parents at the Kings is very strong, from coaches, managers and so many parents providing assistance at training and games, with the committee taking that commitment to the next level to drive the club further.

One of the things that stands out to me about the Kings is that the focus is on the player and that is every player.

The club certainly celebrates its successes, whether that be premierships, individual successes or sheer numbers of participants, but this is secondary to ensuring that every player gets the opportunity to learn, participate and develop in the game we all love.I can’t recommend the club more highly for anyone who is interested in learning and loving cricket in a positive environment.

Your child may be eligible for a $300 KidSport Voucher

This program provides financial assistance to families to ensure all kids have the opportunity to participate in sport, remain physically active and build long lasting friendships. Not only can the vouchers go towards club registration fees, they can also be used towards essential playing equipment and uniforms.

KidSport is available to children between 5 and 18 years who are named on a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, with up to $300 available per child, per financial year.

Registration and Program Details

When do registrations open?

Registrations for the upcoming season will open on July. You can register your child online through our website.

When do registrations close?

Registrations will close on TBA. We recommend registering early to secure your child’s spot.

When does the season start?

The season will commence TBA for both Blasters and Junior Cricket programs.

Can I play with friends or siblings?

Yes, you can request to be placed on the same team as friends or siblings during the registration process. We will make every effort to accommodate these requests, especially in the younger age groups. However, team size limits and balancing skill levels may affect this.

What if I am an existing player?

Existing players typically have priority to return to the club each season. You will receive a link to register for the upcoming season, which is usually open for a limited time (e.g., two weeks) before being opened up for new players.

Can my child rejoin last season’s team or play with their friends again this season?

Players can usually register directly to a team organized by a nominated person (e.g., a returning team or a new group of friends). Alternatively, they can register as individuals and request to be placed with friends.

My child is X age; what age group will they play in?

Ages are as of 31st July…
Master Blasters: 4-6 years
Blasters: 7-9 years
Yr4 Boys: 8 – 9 years

Should I register for Blasters or Juniors?

Blasters (4-9 years): Introduces cricket skills through fun games and activities.
Junior Cricket (Yr4 – Yr11 Boys): Focuses on skill development and competitive play.

Is there a Come Try Day for Blasters or Juniors?

Yes, we offer a Come and Try session for Blasters on Sunday date TBA from 9am to 12pm at Chichester Clubrooms. New players are encouraged to attend pre-season training sessions for Juniors. Dates will be communicated closer to the season.

Training and Game Day Info

When does training start and where is it held?

Training will begin on TBA at Chichester South. All training sessions for Junior Cricket take place at locations around Kingsley/Woodvale/Edgewater.

What days and times are training sessions?

Blasters: [Fridays], [5pm to 6:30pm]
U10s: [Mon to Fri], [After School]

Who is the coach?

Our coaches are qualified and experienced in developing young cricketers. Coach assignments will be communicated prior to the start of the season.

Is Junior Cricket played on Saturday or Sunday?

U10s: Sundays
U12s: Saturdays
U14s: Saturdays

How many games are in a season for Blasters and Junior Cricket?

Blasters: 13 games
Junior Cricket: 15 games, plus finals.

What time are Blasters and Junior Cricket games?

Blasters: 5pm to 6:30pm on Fridays
Junior Cricket: 8am on Saturdays & Sundays

Do Blasters and Junior Cricket have breaks over the school holidays?

Yes, both programs will take a break from TBA for the school holidays.

What type of pitches do I play on?

Younger age groups (e.g., U10s) often play on modified pitches, while older groups typically play on turf pitches. Specific pitch types and conditions may vary by club.

Where do I play my games?

Games are played at various local ovals, with home games at the club’s primary ground. Clubs will provide a list of venues for the season.

Are you in Boys U14 or U11?

How much do Blasters and Junior Cricket cost?

Blasters: $156.00
Junior Cricket:U10s: $230.50

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes, we offer a 5% discount for additional siblings registered in the same season, applicable to both Blasters and Junior Cricket.

How much does the uniform cost and when do I get it?

The uniform costs up to a maximum of $175.00 for a complete Game & Training day set including shirt, shorts/pants and a hat.
Uniforms will be available for collection on three occasions
– TBA
– TBA, and
– One week prior to the start of the season.

Can I try the uniform on for size?

You can try on uniform samples at Revo Cricket’s brand new store in Warwick starting TBA
Store hours are:
Mon – Fri 1:30 – 5:30pm
Sat – Sun 11am – 2pm

Sizing has changed a little from last season, so we strongly recommend heading in to try things on. There’s also a size guide on the order page if you prefer to check it out online. Just a heads-up, the club won’t be keeping spare uniforms this year, so we won’t be able to offer any exchanges.

How do I get replacement equipment?

If you need replacement equipment, please contact the club’s equipment manager or administration. They will assist you in obtaining the necessary replacements, whether due to damage or wear. You may need to provide details about the equipment and its condition.

What equipment do I need to play?

Essential equipment typically includes;
– Cricket bat
– Helmet
– Batting gloves
– Batting pads
– Abdominal protector
– White pants and a club shirt (often provided during registration)
